Our four-session beginning quilting class teaches all the steps to quilt construction. Class project is a small 28-inch wallhanging, table runner, or slightly larger baby-size quilt. Three sessions are devoted to skills such as rotary cutting, measuring, and use of rulers, block construction, proper piecing and pressing of quilt top, and application of borders. Included in the price of the class is the quilting of your project on the longarm machine here at the shop. In the 4th session, we will learn the process of making and applying the binding to your quilted project.
Come into the shop and see the samples done in various fabrics. Be sure to pick up your supply list of materials needed for your project. In the interest of instruction time, please purchase your materials before the first class session. A 10 percent discount is applied for all materials purchased for classes at Heart and Hand. Store machines are available for your use if your home sewing machine is not portable. We encourage you to bring your machine if possible.
